With a history of 190 years, The Helena May, an elegant colonial building displaying mesmerizing architectural style, has been declared a listed monument in Hong Kong. The English Society was privileged to be granted a tour around the enchanting building, which is otherwise exclusive to its donors, club members and affiliated schools, on 3 May. About ten students were invited to tour around the enigmatic building with English guided tours kindly provided by its voluntary docents. Students were amazed by this living piece of artwork, felt the heartbeats of Hong Kong’s historical past and witnessed the symphony of our vibrant, diverse culture. The tour will be featured in the upcoming Club Magazine, with contributions and reviews from our students.
