Perth – Economics and Biology 7-Day Study Tour

From 17–23 April 2025, twenty of our students embarked on a seven-day Economics and Biology study tour to Perth, Western Australia. Encounters with quokkas on Rottnest Island, the dazzling pink waters of Hutt Lagoon, and the limestone spires of the Pinnacles Desert enriched their understanding of adaptation, conservation, and biodiversity. A behind-the-scenes visit to the “Lobster Shack” illustrated forward vertical expansion in action, while stops at Elizabeth Quay, Kings Park, and the Port of Fremantle provided data for analysing Perth’s Gross Regional Product and the roles of tourism, agriculture, and mining in the local economy. Blending hands-on science, real-world economics, and plenty of Easter-holiday fun, the tour proved both memorable and inspiring for everyone involved.
