This summer, our school celebrated an extraordinary milestone as 5C Eric HUI Yusen participated in the Young Astronaut Training Camp 2026. Jointly organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, this renowned national initiative selected just 30 elite secondary students from across Hong Kong. Earning a spot in the camp’s 15th edition required passing a rigorous three-round selection process, including an astronomy quiz at the Hong Kong Space Museum, an intensive pre-camp training camp at Lady MacLehose Holiday Village, and a competitive final interview.

During the expedition, Eric travelled to Beijing, Jiuquan, and Xi’an, gaining rare access to premier aerospace facilities like Beijing Aerospace City and the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre. From meeting legendary national astronauts to undergoing authentic simulation training, the immersive journey profoundly expanded his horizon in space science, technology, and astronomy.

Demonstrating exceptional leadership and passion throughout the trip, Eric was crowned Best Performing Camper. In recognition of his success, he served as a featured student speaker at the official August sharing ceremony, delivering an inspiring address alongside Dr. SO Chu-wing, Curator of the Hong Kong Space Museum. Eric’s remarkable milestone brings immense honour to our school, reminding us all that with perseverance, curiosity, and courage, no goal is out of reach. We congratulate Eric on his stellar achievement as he continues to reach for the stars!
